Sorell Insulations
Spray Foam insulation Service
Spray foam insulation has rapidly become the go-to solution for insulating challenging spaces that traditional methods often fail to address. These include areas with limited access, such as joist ends or rim joists, smaller surface areas, and areas requiring multiple tie-ins, like frost walls. Issues with attic vapor barriers are increasingly driving the renovation and new construction market toward 2-pound closed cell insulation. Applying a minimum 2-inch layer of 2-pound spray foam on the attic floor can seal all penetrations and provide a superior vapor barrier compared to traditional poly.
At Sorell Insulation, we offer advanced spray foam solutions from Polysource Industries, available in both open and closed cell forms. Closed cell foam is primarily used to air and vapor seal a home, offering the highest thermal resistance per inch and curing hard to the touch for a durable finish. Open cell foam, on the other hand, is ideal for thermal resistance in areas where vapor barriers and air sealing are already in place. Whether you need the robust sealing capabilities of closed cell foam or the efficient thermal resistance of open cell foam, our spray foam solutions are designed to meet your specific insulation needs.
Product Applications
- Walls: Spray foam can be used to insulate walls, filling cavities and gaps, providing a high R-value per inch and air sealing properties.
- Roofs and Attics: Applied within the attic to the attic floor, spray foam can insulate and air seal attics and roofs.
- Floors: It can be used to insulate floors, especially over unconditioned spaces like basements or crawl spaces.
- Basements: Spray foam is effective for insulating basement walls and rim joists, reducing moisture and air infiltration.
- Crawl Spaces: Insulating crawl spaces with spray foam helps to prevent cold floors and moisture issues.
- Ceilings: Applied to ceiling cavities for insulation and air sealing.
- Ductwork: Spray foam can be used to insulate HVAC ductwork, improving energy efficiency.
- Foundations: Insulating the exterior or interior of foundation walls.
- Garage Doors: Insulating garage doors to improve energy efficiency in attached and detached garages.

Spray Foam Inspection and Installation Guide
To ensure a smooth inspection and installation process for your spray foam insulation project, please follow these guidelines:
Spray Foam Inspection Preparation
- Access and Visibility: Ensure full access to the area that requires spray foam insulation. All cladding must be removed so the entire surface area is visible.
- Professional Services: While we specialize in insulation, we do not always have the resources to open up walls or remove cladding. For these services, we are happy to recommend one of our many preferred contractors within our network or consulting the BBB list of accredited Home Renovation companies.
- Address Moisture Issues: Any moisture issues must be resolved before considering spray foam insulation. Foam insulation cannot seal over water-damaged areas and may delaminate if installed on a wet surface.
Spray Foam Installation Preparation
- Vacate Premises: Your premises must be vacated for 24 hours after spray foam insulation is applied to ensure proper off-gassing. Details are provided in the attached waiver, which is required for all inhabited premises. This health and safety protocol is essential for the viability of your project.
- Clear Area: The area to receive the foam must be completely free of personal items and furniture. The foam agent is sprayed at high speed, and any dust or debris must be cleared to ensure safety and quality.
- Thermal Barrier: All spray foam insulation must be covered by an approved thermal barrier, such as drywall or an approved thermal coating, such as Hibar or DC315.
